Dr. Hamed Jafary is a board-certified podiatric foot and ankle specialist recognized as one of Southern California's leading surgeons in complex lower-extremity care. Known for combining advanced surgical skill with cutting-edge regenerative treatments, Dr. Jafary has built a reputation for helping patients—from everyday individuals to elite athletes—return to peak performance.
A Los Angeles native, Dr. Jafary began his academic journey at UCLA, earning a degree in Microbiology and Immunology in 2009. He remained at UCLA as a research associate conducting genetic research before deciding to pursue a more patient-focused path in medicine. After exploring multiple specialties, he discovered his calling in podiatric medicine under the mentorship of renowned surgeon Dr. Bob Baravarian at the University Foot & Ankle Institute.
Dr. Jafary earned his medical degree from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine in Miami, followed by a rigorous three-year surgical residency at Jackson Health System, one of the nation's busiest and most diverse training environments. He then returned home to Los Angeles to complete an advanced fellowship at the University Foot & Ankle Institute, further refining his expertise in complex foot and ankle reconstruction.
His approach blends surgical precision with innovative regenerative medicine, allowing him to offer progressive, minimally invasive solutions that support faster recovery and long-term function.

Dr. Jafary's expertise has also extended into the professional sports world. He has served as part of the medical team for the Miami Heat, contributing to the care of elite athletes and gaining invaluable experience in high-performance sports medicine—an asset he now brings to athletes and active patients throughout Los Angeles.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Jafary is deeply committed to global humanitarian care. Through organizations such as the Yucatan Crippled Children Foundation and Podiatry Overseas, he has performed hundreds of limb-correcting and reconstructive surgeries for children and adults in underserved communities around the world.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Jafary lives in Sherman Oaks with his wife. A black belt in martial arts and a lifelong athlete, he brings the same discipline and focus from training into the operating room. A self-proclaimed foodie and former Mediterranean restaurant chef, he believes precision, creativity, and care are just as important in the kitchen as they are in surgery.
